ELCIA Trust is also concerned with the environmental issues like green cover, carbon credit and solid waste management. As part of the “ Green Cover” programme the Trust has been planting saplings in and around Electronics City for the past 10 years. The green cover that now we see in the once barren Electronics City are the results of hard work taken up by Mr.G.S.Veerabhadrappa , whom we fondly address as the “Green Man” of E-City. We also take up sapling activity on 5th of every June, which is the “World Environment Day”. Saplings are planted not only in E-City but also in the neighbouring villages. For the year2010-11 the Trust plans to plant 10,000 saplings not only within E-City but also in other places of the city.
