Infrastructure Development at Govt Schools

ELCIA Trust believes that the Government School children should study in a very good atmosphere, a school that can provide all infrastructures. With this as its goal, two Government Schools from the neighbourhood of Electronic City were chosen.
Doddathogur School building was constructed after demolishing the old and ageing tiled roofed building. The new building has six large rooms with RCC roof and a clean tiled floor. The building plan has envisaged the construction of three more floors to enable the school to grow into a full-fledged high school. ELCIA plans to associate itself through its member organizations in a programme of continuous up gradation of the facilities in the school to ensure that the village children receive the same level of education as others in the heart of the city. ELCIA Trust has contributed about Rs 49 lakhs towards this project.
A high school was badly needed for the students residing at Bettadasanapura village. While there is a Primary School the need for a high school was felt by the villagers as such the Panchayat had requested ELCIA Trust to fulfill their need. Government of Karnataka was gracious by providing land next to the existing Primary School. M/s TIMKEN, one of the member organizations of ELCIA, came forward to support the project through their own TIMKEN Foundation, USA. They were magnanimous with their donation of about Rs. 31 lakhs towards this project. ELCIA Trust contributed another Rs.9 lakhs to the project. The school building was completed in all respects during the month of June 2009. Now the school is considered as a “model school” in the neighborhood.
